Alumni-Stacked Mira Costa High School Opts For Solar
The list of notable alumni members from Mira Costa High School is quite impressive. Jahlani Tavai is a current NFL Linebacker, while Jeff Rohrer and Mike Okwo are former NFL players. Michele Tafoya is an Emmy-winning Sports Reporter, and Holly McPeak was an Olympian and professional beach volleyball player.
Danny Strong and Rachel Bloom both have careers in acting. The impressive list goes on and on. This is part of the reason why we felt so honored to be able to work with them to bring their solar dream to life.

About the customer
Mira Costa High School’s athletic complex is the installation location of the rooftop solar PV system. The newly-built complex is one of the largest gyms in Los Angeles County. It houses a gym, a wrestling arena, two weight training areas, individual classrooms, and coach’s offices.
The contractor, Treepublic, installs commercial and residential solar systems in the Los Angeles Basin, the San Fernando Valley, and the Inland Empire.
"Mira Costa High School decided to add solar to their new facility both to reduce their electric bills and to take action on climate change. SDC Energy was a great partner throughout the financial parts of this process. Without the financing discount, it would have been difficult or impossible for the school district to approve this investment."
Due to tight budget restrictions, Mira Costa High School would have been unlikely to get its solar project approved. With help from SDC Energy, they were able to convert to solar electricity to save money and contribute to a cleaner future.
